The official appointment of the national team coach will be done in 2021 since all national team training is postponed until January next year.
Recently the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Executive had identified a suitable candidate among many who applied for the top job.
But due to factors relating to Covid-19 the appointment of the national team coach will be officially done early next year.
In an executive meeting week ago, a decision has been made to suspend national team training programme and futsal national team World Cup preparation until 2021.
The decision was made in light of the complexities posed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the cancellation of the OFC Nations Cup and deferment of the FIFA Futsal World Cup to 2021.
All national players are encouraged to training with their respective clubs to stay in shape for the likely event of call up for national duty for the FIFA World Cup qualifying stage which is yet to be confirmed by OFC later this year.
Kurukuru still has ample time to prepare for the World Cup as FIFA has postponed the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania and rescheduled the tournament to run from 12 September – 3 October 2021.
