Football salutes former Miss Solomon Islands


The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) would like to thank former Miss Solomon Islands Gladys Habu for her volunteered services to women’s football development during her reign.

Gladys was a role model for young girls and women in the country and she has inspired women’s footballers in the country through her advocacy work and achievements both nationally and internationally.

She was the guest speaker at the official presentation of the 2020 preseason games of the Women’s league and inspired the players to dream big and strive for the best when the country hosts the 2023 Pacific Games on home soil.

Gladys also attended the launch of the inaugural Solrais Women’s Premier League last year as of the special guests at the Coral Sea Resort and Casino.

SIFF President William Lai who was the former chairman of the Solrais Women’s Premier League thank the outgoing Miss Solomon for her contributions to football.

‘As the president and former chairman of the women’s league, I would like to thank Gladys for her charity work and being a inspiration to young girls and women’s who are playing football a male-dominant sport,” Lai said.

SIFF women’s football fraternity would also like to thank Gladys for her service to the women’s game and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
