Prime Minister Sogavare said all countries in the pacific region have a responsibility to look after each other.
“We occupy a peaceful corner of the world and we must keep it that way,” he said.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged Australia and New Zealand for taking the lead in providing security in the pacific region.
Chief of the New Zealand Defence Force Air Marshall Kevin R Short when responding to the Prime Minister said that security in the region is paramount.
“We are committed in making this region a safer place for our people,” he said.
