The recent Solomon Cup set a record as it is the first edition of the national football competition in the Solomon Islands to be live-streamed via social media giant Facebook and it reached 1.4 million people.
According to statistic from the Solomon Islands Football Federation official page, there were 1,460, 349 people were reached during the span of the two-week-long tournament.
Out of the 1.4 million people reached 1,348, 905 actively engaged in reads, comments, shares and watching contents on the page.
The grand final match between Malaita Eagles and Western Tomoko not only set a new record for attendance of a crowd estimated to be around 23, 000 people but has total views of 38,000 people watching the Livestream.
According to FIFA, Solomon Islands recorded the highest attendance at a football match on Saturday 12 December 2020 since bigger football countries around the world have restrictions due to COVID-19.
